Time in Neopia is based on Neopian Standard Time (N.S.T.) It is roughly the same as Pacific Standard Time, so the two may be used interchangeably. You will notice that TNE provides a clock on the banner of each page along the right of the screen as well as the status bar along the bottom of the page. Because Neopets is enjoyed by people around the world, it is important that one common system be used. Because Neopets is based in California (U.S.A.), they decided to keep the "Neopian" time the same as their local time.

Why is time important?
Certain events take place at certain times of the day. If I were to notice that the Snowager was sleeping at 8:00 my time, and posted that for someone who lived two hours ahead of me, they would miss out (or think I was giving them false information). On the other hand, if I posted what time he sleeps in Neopian Standard Time, then it doesn't matter what time zone anyone is in.
Where can I find out what time it is on the Neopets pages?
Neopian Standard Time (NST) is shown on the front page, world page, battledome page and on the calendar. This should help you make arrangements to chat, fight, trade etc, with international Neofriends. You can find out what the time is whenever you are on the site by typing nst or time into the search box on the yellow side bar. This will bring up the Neopet help page.
