As with all good help sites, the pages on the Neopian Educator are always under construction. Suggestions and constructive criticism are always welcome. Simply fill out the automatic comment form.

As you probably expected, the Avatars and Game Reviews pages have been updated.

The Great Free Stuff page has been updated to note the addition of the weekly Movie Mountain freebie for US players.

Plans are underway to go ahead and update the Tour pages, but will probably not be finished or uploaded until after the Altador plot has been completed.

Work continues on the upcoming museum. This project is rather large, but at least you can get a quick look at it here. One of the most recent additions is the archive for this year’s April Fools Day fun. Note that these pages are still very much under construction. If you have anything you’d like to contribute, please send it to: Naomi_Tran@baylor.edu

I have decided to add a crafts section to the What To Do When Neopets is Down page. If you have any patterns you’d like to contribute, please send it to: Naomi_Tran@baylor.edu If your craft is posted, you will receive credit for it, so be sure to include your username.

Cheeseroller

Have a guide you'd like to see here? Send it to: Naomi_Tran@baylor.edu

With the release of four new cheeses, the guide has been updated and I wanted to share it with those who may have missed it. It's the craze sweeping Neopia - buy your cheese from the cheese shop, and then see how fast you can run down a hill with it.

The first step, of course, is to buy your cheese. Unfortunately, the salesman won't tell you what he has to offer, or how much they cost. Here are the cheeses you may buy, arranged from least expensive (Spicy Juppie Cheese for 150 np) to most expensive (Angelpuss Cheese for 3600 np):

Name
Price
Just the type of cheese you would want to roll down a hill with! Just watch out for potholes and low branches!
Spicy Juppie Cheese
150np
Only the freshest snorkles were used to make this cheese.
Smoked Snorkle Cheese
300np
Not one, not two, but three different types of mustard went into this cheese!
Triple Mustard Cheese
450np
Just the type of cheese you would want to roll down a hill with! Just watch out for potholes and low branches!
Honey Cheese
600np
Real meat!
Big Beefy Cheese
750np
Evil cheese that came from beyond the stars!
Purple Spotted Cheese
900np
Looks more like sausages
Brain Cheese
1,050np
No Alkenores were harmed in the making of this cheese... really.
Alkenore Cheese
1,200np
Left out in the sun a bit TOO long…
Mutated Cheese
1,350np
Just the type of cheese you would want to roll down a hill with! Just watch out for potholes and low branches!
Bubbling Blueberry Cheese
1,500np
Something produced an awful lot of dung in order to make this cheese!
Tyrannian Dung Cheese
1,650np
Just the type of cheese you would want to roll down a hill with! Just watch out for potholes and low branches!
Quadruple Fudge Cheese
1,800np
Lovingly cemented together, very tasty!
Brick Cheese
1,950np
This cheese looks like it dropped out of somebodys nose.
Gooey Snot Cheese
2,100np
Minty fresh and yummy too!
Peppermint Cheese
2,250np
Somebody dropped a packet of seeds in the cheese vat!
Overgrown Cheese
2,400np

Heavy Bark Cheese
2,550np
Somebody dropped a packet of seeds in the cheese vat!
Warty Blue Cheese
2,700np
Somebody dropped a packet of seeds in the cheese vat!
Fragrant Ummagcheese Cheese
2,850np

Furry Chocomint Cheese
3,000np

Mummified Cheese
3,150np

Nimmo Tube Cheese
3,300np

Space Cheese
3,450np

Angelpuss Cheese
3,600np

Personally, I don’t think it matters which cheese you buy. I’ve actually had more luck with the cheaper cheeses…

Once you've purchased your cheese, it's time to roll it down the hill. Unlike many other games, Cheeseroller doesn't rely on quick reflexes or a fast computer. It is strictly “turn based”, meaning you make a choice and wait to see what happens rather than trying to focus on what to do next like Pterattack. You have to travel 120m to reach the bottom of the hill, and a variety of options (go faster, dive right or left, etc.) for each move. Each move advances 10m down the hill, and takes some time.

DISTANCE TO FINISH LINE : 120m
TIME TAKEN : 0 seconds

Select your move from the drop down menu. You can chose:

О        Forward Somersault
О        Push Cheese Faster
О        Hold Cheese Steady
О        Dive Left
О        Dive Right

Jenny945 pushes the cheese faster down the hill ... and a big rock is jutting out of the ground to the left ... SLAM!!! - That's going to cost at least four more seconds

DISTANCE TO FINISH LINE : 110m
TIME TAKEN : 5seconds

That was obviously not a good move...time to try again...

Jenny945 dives left ... good thing you avoided that low branch, eh?

DISTANCE TO FINISH LINE : 100m
TIME TAKEN : 6seconds

Much better...see how happy JC is? That means you made the right choice. If your pet looks sad or angry, you goofed and it cost you time.

Once you reach the finish, you are told how long it took, what your rating is (and if you get neopoints) and (if you make it in under a minute) the cheese you get to keep. You can only play three times a day, and beating a minute is harder than it sounds.

Multiple Madness
What is and is not acceptable for extra accounts.

Judging from recent Editorial questions in the Neopian Times, it seems that there is still a lot of confusion on what is and is not allowed for extra accounts. Not everyone has extra, side, or multiple accounts, but for those of you who do, this article will hopefully clear up some of the confusion.

Originally, Neopets had a firm one account per player policy. That meant that any player who was found with more than one account would lose all accounts they were associated with. As time passed, TNT relaxed that policy and allowed the creation of extra accounts provided that players only profited from one main account. The other accounts were strictly for galleries, guilds, and storage.

In cases where many players share one computer, it is important that each player have a separate email account to help keep it from looking like multiple accounts that are each earning neopoints for one player.

On January 12, 2002, Neopets released the “Golden Rules” for those players with more then one account in an attempt to clear up what players can and cannot do:

Just a quick warning, we are getting VERY strict with multiple accounts. We will freeze anybody who creates multiple accounts in order to gain a financial ( neopoint ) advantage over others. Basically, if you have a couple of extra accounts to store neopets, or items, or a guild that is fine. However, if you log into multiple accounts on a daily basis and use the shrine, tombola etc.. to get neopoints... then wave bye-bye to ALL your accounts.

Bye-bye!

Just to re-iterate, creating multiple accounts to gain extra neopoints with is NOT allowed. It is unfair to people who play by the rules, and heavily scorned upon by the Neopets Team. Please don't do it, and when your accounts are frozen please dont email us asking for them back, because they will never be unfrozen.

Neopets Golden Rules

  • Your main account must be the only account you use for daily Neopoint-gaining activities such as flash games, Tombola, Shrine, Fruit Machine, Snowager, Kiosk, Mystery Pic etc...
  • You may have up to 4 other accounts for guilds, galleries, storage, and extra neopets (which we hope are fed on a daily basis!)
  • We do not mind if you use your other 4 accounts to gain Neopoints via your Shop, or the Trading Post, as these Neopoints do not come out of thin air, they require you to actually be selling items.
  • If you already have more than 4 accounts, but do not use them to make Neopoints, don't worry thats fine - just please don't create any more.

Thanks for playing Neopets, and we hope you understand that we make these rules to make Neopia a fairer, and a more exciting place for everybody!

The editorials from the last few weeks has provided further clarification. Because the search feature does not index editorials, the following are taken directly from The Neopian Times editorials:

Issue 233:

Are we allowed to do the plot on our gallery account also? ~ zippoboy05
Nope! You can only participate in Neopets plots on your main account! Since players are rewarded for participating in plots, this would be a form of multiple account abuse. Please only participate in plots on your main. We realize we haven't been abundantly clear about this in the past (even though it should be common sense), so please don't harass players that have past plot or war trophies on multiple accounts. We won't be retroactively freezing, but please, if you have started the Altador plot on more than one account, please stop now.

Issue 234:

Hey TNT. You know how on your side account you aren't allowed to play games, or sell from your shops, etc. Well I was wondering about something. What if your main account was suspended? Then would you be allowed to play games and such until you can go back onto your main account? Please answer this! I'd like to know for future reference! =P ~ girl_in_green
No. If your main account is suspended, you may not play games, restock, etc. on your side account. We suggest, instead, that you use your spare time to reread the terms and conditions, as well as the T&C FAQ.

Issue 235:

Are we allowed to enter the Beauty Contest on a side account? ~ This is a rather weird question but I'm just wondering... Lets say a BCer got gold right? Then that means they can't enter the BC the next time? But can they enter on a side account with one of those Neopets? I would think not, but... you guys suprise me sometimes. So, can you? - Sock Master Coco ~ coco_dog_92
No, ma'am. This is not allowed. You may only enter contests with a Neopoint or item prize from your main account.

Issue 240:

Hi TNT! Is it okay if you are logged into one account using Mozilla and your second account using Internet Explorer? It would make transfering stuff via the TP a lot easier. And you can send Neopoints from your main account to a side account via the TP, right? Thanks! ~ cmf_fern
Yes and yes! This is fine... as long as it is used in a responsible manner. You are allowed to send Neopoints to your alternate accounts, of course, since you will need to take care of your Neopets on that account. If using two browsers makes this easier, have at it! But many people use this trick to gain an unfair advantage over other players, to participate in multiple account restocking, to scam while pretending to be two different people, and a host of other shady dealings. Of course, in cases like these, it is absolutely NOT allowed. Just keep in mind that one account is your main, and the other is your alt, and all rules still apply even if you are playing both accounts at the same time.

Issue 241:

Are we allowed to send avatar items to our alts so that they can get the avatar too, or is that against some rule? ~ [anonymous]
Yes, this is just fine, again because you aren't making a profit. Avatars that require you to visit dailies or play games are not allowed to be obtained on side accounts since you are then making a profit while you do so. Sending a Faerie Queen Doll to your alt to get an avatar is just fine, as long as you don't then use that Doll to make a profit on that account. You'll have to send it back to your main if you want to sell it or trade it.

Before you do anything, just ask yourself, "Will I be making a profit?" If the answer is yes, then it's not allowed.

So, the parting words from TNT sum up things quite well. Hopefully this will clear up the last of the confusion…and if not, I’ll happily try to answer any questions as they come up.

As always, play safe and have fun!
