Honest Neopians
Its been a busy month in Neopia. On March 4, they reduced the price of Scratch Cards to 600 NP.
March 5
saw the unveiling of three EXTRA LARGE pizzas at Pizzaroo, which are good for
up to 6 meals.
On March
6, Gelert Day, Neopets hit the 27 MILLION
OWNERS mark.
They slightly increased the quality of the items that the Esophagor gives out, and introduced the Rainbow Swirly Potion at the Magic Shop on March 7
Edna's Quests received a similar makeover on the 20th
and the Snow Faerie Quests did on the
21st. They also introduced a new Battledome Challenger, the Mighty
Highland Chia.
This year,
Gadgadsbogen arrived on March
12, which is the annual Fruit Festival on Mystery Island. All sorts of new fruits
are now available.
On the weekend
of the 16th, Limited Too stores across America began selling Neopets merchandise.
Many of these items had rare item codes that can be redeemed at the Grundo
Warehouse.
Neopets
increased the max rarity of items you can search for on the yellow bar search
box to 98. Which makes it a lot more practical.
Two new
games were released, Usuki Frenzy (March 25, 2002)
and EVIL FUZZLES FROM BEYOND THE STARS
(March 30, 2002). The first is just another version of the unlamented DivaStarz
game. . Sally the Usul is going on holiday and just HAS to have all her
Usuki sets
so you go around the house and collect them as fast as possible.
The second is a shooter game where you blast invading fuzzles. Help protect
the Virtupets Space Station from these mutant invaders is the games
tagline.
Neopets
has mentioned that the next new world will be Jelly World
it
ought to be interesting
Sadly, not all the news was good news. Neopets was forced to take dubloons away from Deckball and Deckswabber because too many people were cheating to get them. They have promised to add more ways to earn them soon, but like NeoGardens, soon is a matter of subjective opinion. Treasure Hunt, and other popular games have also been removed. It does not appear that Neopets will be bringing them back any time soon.

This month, I have been preparing to switch over to the new
format. My help site now has a name (The Neopian Educator)
rather than just my help site, and you are reading the first newsletter
for the site. Plans are in the works for improvements, and as always, your comments are always
valued. As some of you may remember, Baylor Universitys servers went down
earlier this month. The new servers have a slightly different URL, so if you
link to my site, be sure you have the updated links.
Rare Item
Codes: What they are, what to do with them, and how to keep from getting
scammed.
Neopets is now selling merchandise in the real world
in the form of plushies, stickers, note pads, etc. at stores across America.
Many of these products have the coveted Rare Item Codes that may
be redeemed at the Grundo Warehouse
for random prizes. These codes are single use items, like paint brushes
or books
meaning once they are used, nobody else can get anything with
them.
To get a
code, you first need to find a store that sells the neopets merchandise. Use
the handy Store Locator
Map to find the one closest to you. Find one? Good
next step, go to
that store and buy at least one item that has the seal: RARE ITEM CODE INSIDE.
(Note that plushies do not have these codes because there was no way to secure
them.) For the sake of discussion, well buy a note pad. Now, rush home
and take over the computer. Naturally, since your homepage is set to http://www.neopets.com/ all you will need to
do is login and go to the Grundo Warehouse
(its on the Virtu-Pets Space Station). Open your note pad and find the
rare item code. On a note pad, its inside the front cover. Carefully type
the code into the box, and be sure to include the . Congratulations,
you are now the proud owner of a Massive White Aisha Cake, Chia Comb, or other
fine rare item.
On a sad note, Ive seen some less than honest users offering to sell/trade these codes. Please remember that these codes are single use items. What they don't tell you is they've probably already used the code and thus have rendered it useless to you. You may be giving away valuable items for nothing. I suggest being patient, Neopets will soon have more places to buy merchandise and then you will be able to get a Rare Item Code that you know has not been used.
This months Teachers Pet Site Award goes to ShirKhanas Honest Neopians
When ShirKhanas owner first started Neopets, she was scammed, leaving
poor ShirKhana to fend for herself. With help, ShirKhana and Daytonakit were
reunited, and they put together a list of traits an honest Neopian will have
and
dis-honest Neopians will not. Drop by and take a look.
