Every Wednesday Neopets will now be announcing a new Petpet Spotlight. You can get a trophy for your cabinet if your petpet is chosen. TNE News

I think I have fixed the problem with the internal hyperlinks from the last newsletter. There were no negative comments, so I assume that most people like the new format.

I added a small, animated button to my Link to this site page, as well as updated my Books page.

The news games have been added to my Game Reviews page.

I have created a TNE Report Card Archive. As always, I welcome any suggestions, comments, and constructive criticisms that might improve the site or the newsletter.

The Money Tree: Rip off or Secret Random Event generator?

In the center of the shops page sits the Money Tree. Neopians flock to the tree in the hopes of grabbing a good item, getting a little food, or to donate their own items or neopoints.

Most of the time, you’ll hear people complaining about not being able to get items because of the “greedy people”. To get items or np, you have to have an incredibly fast connection and be fairly lucky. The more times you try to get an item, the less chance you have to get other items. Neopets installed that feature several months ago to discourage “vultures”.

Donating can either be done from the inventory drop down menu or the quickstock page for items and on the Money Tree page for np.  You may be asking yourself, “Why should I donate my items or np when nobody donated anything to me?” Other than my belief that it is better to give than receive, or my desire to help others, there is one more reason that you may have overlooked.

Donating to the Money Tree seems to activate a special “subroutine” in the Neopets system. For some reason, donating seems to increase the Random Events rate. Haven’t been on a Faerie Quest lately? Pet not finding items? Drop off something for the Money Tree. It doesn’t seem to matter what the item is or how many neopoints you offer. You may be skeptical…and this may not work for everyone. Why not try it for yourself, though. Today, when you go by Tombola and pick up yet another bottle of sand, why not drop it off at the Money Tree? At worse, you’ve lost a worthless item. Who knows, it could pay off in the long run

TNE Teacher’s Pet Award

Neoitems.net is our featured site for June. Even though it has been up and running for quite a while, it has only recently been brought to my attention. Usually, this award goes to sites that specialize in hints and tips, but this site is in a class all by itself.

This is a really well done site that catalogues all the items in Neopia, as well as some other hints and tips. I found this very useful when I started putting together a list of items for my Aisha gallery.
