February 2004

THE BATTLE FOR MERIDELL HAS BEGUN - Click here to see the first part. (February 2, 2004)

Jhudora has been added to the How To Draw pages. (February 4, 2004)

Vira has been added to the How To Draw section. (February 10, 2004)

Neopets has a new page of Testimonials for you to read. (February 13, 2004)

There was a bug in Auctions and Trades where items in other languages would not be translated properly (and some nasty people were using that to scam!) (February 16, 2004)

There was a bug with the Safety Deposit Search where some items were impossible to find. This has been fixed now. (February 24, 2004)

March 2004

In honor of St. David’s Day, Neopets released special Love Spoons. (These are a Welsh specialty in case you are wondering). (March 1, 2004)

Lots of new Uni Shopkeepers have been added (27 to be exact), you should now be able to have any color Uni that exists. (March 2, 2004)

March 3rd marked a new day for Neopets servers/uploading/news style. In a somewhat confusing move (that seems to have made no sense or difference whatsoever), they set up a new system where the news SHOULD be updated at midnight N.S.T. Listed below is the explanation directly quoted from the news page for that day. (March 3, 2004)

March 4 marked the official beginning of Gadgadsbogen this year. (March 4, 2004)

Neopets is now creating pages to provide more information on each species. The first one of these to be completed is the aisha at http://www.neopets.com/aisha. They will be doing this for all the species in the near future. (March 5, 2004) The Bruce page is also now available. (March 8, 2004),

Neopets has a new Neopedia article featuring a Uni called Tawnia. (March 8, 2004)

There is a new Neopedia article featuring a Scorchio who isn't having a very enjoyable Scorchio Day. (March 12, 2004)

RED CODESTONES??? It was recently discovered that by throwing normal codestones into the volcano you can get special Red Codestones out. These magical stones will help your Neopet advance their skills beyond the training offered at the Training School. Drop by the Mystery Island Volcano! (March 13, 2004)

Neopets has updated the Terms and Conditions, make sure you take a look. (March 17, 2004)

If you have longed to be able to draw Illusen with ease, here is your chance! They have just added her to the How To Draw pages. (March 17, 2004)

Neopets has made lots of little changes to NeoMail. It has a link to the user lookup of the sender and lots of other stuff. (March 19, 2004)

Meuka has been added to the How To Draw section. Now you can draw his SNOTTY likeness all over the place. (March 24, 2004)

Neopets updated the User Lookup so that you can see actual pictures of your Neopets. They also decided to add some icons. (March 24, 2004)

Jeran in his battle armour has been added to the How To Draw section. (March 29, 2004)

Lord Kass has been added to the Gallery of Evil. (March 30, 2004)

There is a new Neopedia entry about some strange happenings on Krawk Island. (March 31, 2004)

A new paint brush was introduced in February…the Royal Paint Brush is on sale in the Hidden Tower.

v      The Zafara is the first Neopet that can be turned into a Prince or Princess using the Royal Paint Brush. (February 2, 2004)

v      Lennies can now be painted Fire and Plushie at the Rainbow Pool. (February 12, 2004)

v      Now you can learn How To Draw a Lenny with this handy new guide. (February 13, 2004)

v      You can now have a cuddly Plushie Chia. (February 18, 2004)

v      A funny thing happens to Chias when they eat a Thornberry Chia Pop... (February 18, 2004)

v      For some strange reason, Tonu really REALLY don't like Neggs, which is a shame because they are quite tasty. (February 20, 2004)

v      Tonu can now be painted Spotted and Plushie. (February 20, 2004)

v      Usuls can now be painted Silver. (February 24, 2004)

v      Skeiths now can sport a tropical Island look. (March 4, 2004)

Have you always wanted to give your Petpet a toy or basket of its own? A new shop - Petpet Supplies has just opened so now you can do just that (and you can see them in your Neohome too!). (March 24, 2004)

q        Niptors, Mazzews, Baby Blus and Anubis can now be painted in these lovely Island colours. Perfect for Gadgadsbogen. (March 4, 2004)

q        Gallions can be painted Fire, Ghost or Black at the Petpet Puddle. (March 8, 2004)

q        Meepits, Faellies, Gallions and Noils can be painted Island. (March 9, 2004)

q        You can now own a Mutant Mortog. (March 9, 2004)

a    NEW GAME - It's all the rage in Meridell this month. Everybody is playing Whack-A-Kass, and now you can too. (February 26, 2004)

a    Neopets released another new sponsor game from Lucky Charms. (March 2, 2004)

a    HASEE BOUNCE - Hasee Bounce is a great new game where you control two hungry little Hasees who just *love* Doughnutfruit. You may recognise some of the colours of fruit from a certain other game... :) (March 4, 2004)

a    NEW GAME - Yes, there is Trouble at the National Neopian. You had better go there and try and sort things out. (March 12, 2004)

a    NEW GAME - Meepit Juice Break is here. Try and get the juice to your meepits. (March 18, 2004)

a    Come into my parlour said the Spyder to the Vernax... Neopets has a new game called Web of Vernax where you play a hungry Spyder in search of some tasty treats. Once you've played the game, why not read the Neopedia too? (March 25, 2004)

Changes to existing games:

Swarm now gives out 33% more Neopoints as it was one of the lowest-scoring games. (February 13, 2004)

All the Krawk Island flash games now have a new Preloader. (February 24, 2004)

Neopets changed both the Slots games so that it's slightly easier to win NP. Also the chance of winning a dubloon has been doubled. (March 1, 2004)

Rink Runner wasn't giving out that many NP so they increased its payout by 50%. (March 2, 2004)

Neopets has released a new version of Skarl's Scramble. There are new animations, and a beginner’s mode. (March 10, 2004)

There is a Neopedia about Hasee Bounce. If you wondered how Hasees came to be munching fruit on Mystery Island, you should check it out. (March 10, 2004)

You can now see how many NP you will earn in the Flash Games as the Score-to-Neopoint ratio is now displayed on every page. (March 12, 2004)
