A new Neopedia article featuring some Yurbles has just gone live. (August 3, 2004)

There is a new Neopedia story featuring Jhuidah. (August 10, 2004)

Neopets introduces Tarla's Shop of Mystery on top of Terror Mountain. Why not buy something from her, you could get something really amazing, but then again you might not... (August 10, 2004)

• Multiple Account Clarification
  Many people seem to be confused about the multiple accounts rule so we thought we would try to clear things up. You are allowed to have up to five accounts, but you cannot use them to gain an unfair advantage over other users (ie. playing Flash Games or Restocking). The extra accounts are to be used only for non-Neopoint making activities such as posting boards, making galleries or storage accounts. If you are found to be doing this, you will be warned, and very likely frozen.

Brightvale, the neighboring kingdom to Meridell is home to all kinds of scholarly things. The land is ruled by King Skarl's brother King Hagan who values knowledge above all and despairs of his impetuous little brothers ways. (August 12, 2004)

There are now many more color choices and templates for you to choose from when designing your Guild. (August 18, 2004)

The Wall Of Shame has been updated and lots of new information has been added. (August 18, 2004)

Mutant Day has also been added to the Calendar so this will happen every year. (August 25, 2004)

Neopets has started to add a difficulty level for all the How To Draw pages. One star means easy, two stars are slightly more challenging, three stars are pretty tricky. (September 2, 2004)

You now have the option to turn off font effects on the Neoboards. You can do this by editing your Chat Preferences. (September 3, 2004)

When Kadoatie owners go on holiday they sometimes leave their precious Petpets at the Kadoatery. This is a very nice place where the Kadoaties are fed and looked after, but the poor little Petpets get awfully bored. Maybe you could do something to make their stay more enjoyable? (September 10, 2004)

They have a new Neopedia Article all about one Wocky's trip to the Kadoatery. (September 10, 2004)

Now when you ride on the Roo Island Merry Go Round, you will now see an animation. (September 27, 2004)

An old gate creaks, a baby cries. Somewhere in the distance a bell rings, and then there is a horrible snorting sound as if a pack of ravenous Mutant Snorkles are chasing some unfortunate victim to their doom... yes, another game has been added to the Game Graveyard. This time, it’s Mutant Graveyard of Doom. (September 1, 2004)

Velm from NeoQuest II fame has been added to our How To Draw pages. (September 2, 2004)

Somewhere in Neopia a small Aisha child is having nightmares. Outside there is a full moon. A really old un-oiled gate creaks open, and a bell tolls, another game must have been dragged screaming into the Game Graveyard... and it's Destruct-O-Match. (September 16, 2004)

There has been a change to the way prizes are awarded for the Mystery Pic competition. The first 250 winners will each get a prize, and everybody who guessed the correct answer will get a share from a 2 Million NP jackpot.  (September 24, 2004)

Having trouble with SnowMuncher? Type buuuurrrrrrrrp and your bloat percentage drops just as if you had eaten some Bloat B Gone (be sure to use 4 u's & 8 r's). Note that this only works once per game.

Featured Article: Sickness in Neopia

As many of you know, I’ve been sick for most of August and September. With that in mind, I thought I’d do a quick review of illnesses in Neopia.

From time to time, your pets may become ill as you wander around Neopia. Sometimes these are random events and sometimes you cause your pet to be sick by feeding it certain foods or playing certain games. It is important to treat your pets as soon as possible. Remember, that the longer they remain sick, the unhappier they will become. There is a random event that will actually change your pet’s color if it is too unhappy for too long:

The hospital will help you determine what disease your pet has and what medicine it will need to make it feel better. Once you know what you need, stop by the pharmacy to buy the cure.

Is your pet looking under the weather?	Drop by the hospital to determine what's wrong.	Visit the pharmacy to buy the cure.

Complete list of Diseases in Neopia and their cures:

Disease	Symptoms	Cure
Neogitus	Your pet's gums become sore and swollen. It has difficulty eating or drinking.	Brush their teeth with a Medicinal Toothbrush
Bloaty Belly	This is what happens when your pet eats too much. Your pet will complain of being bloated and will refuse to eat anything.	Feed them some Flat-u-less Tablets
Fuzzitus	This is an allergy to fluff that all pets get now and again, especially bad for JubJubs!!	Shake some Fluff Be Gone on their fur
Achy Head	Your pet will have a nasty headache and feel very under the weather.	Rub some Magic Goop on their head
Shock -A- Lots	Your pet's fur will be full of static and anything it touches will give off electric sparks.	Wearing Ultra Rubber Gloves
Watery Eyes	Your pet will look like it is constantly crying even though it may well be quite happy.	Rub Onion Balm around their eyes
NeoBlues	Your pet is feeling very down in the dumps, it shows little or no interest in playing or eating anything.	A Tasty Pie will cheer them!!!
Floppy Tongue	Your pet's tongue has become all swollen and floppy. Your pet will not be able to close its mouth and will drool a lot.	Give them a Tongue Shrinker Injection
Cricky Neck	Ouch - your pet's neck is very stiff and it can't move its head at all.	Wear a special Neck Brace
NeoMites	Your beloved pet's coat is covered with lurgees that hop around and make your pet scratch.	Give them a NeoMites Injection
Blurred Vision	Your pet will see spots and may bump into things all the time.	Wearing Extra Thick Goggles
Neggitus	One too many Neggs can cause an allergic reaction, swelling of the ears and dizziness.	Give them a Neggitus Injection
Sneezles	Your pet will have a runny nose and sneeze constantly.	Give them a Magic Cookie
D'achoo	Your pet will go into a massive sneezing fit, and its eyes will become very sore.	Wipe their nose with Neopkins
Shaky Flakys	Your pet will start trembling uncontrollably and its skin will be dry. In extreme cases, the skin may even start to flake off.	Rub some Shaky Flaky Cream on their skin
Grumbles	Your pet's stomach will begin to make the loudest of noises and it may be from its food	Take four Grumble Be Gone Tablets
Chickaroo	Your pet will think it is a chicken, pecking the ground for food and crowing at dawn.	Feed them Herbal Scrambled Eggs
Bloaty Feet	Your pet's feet will swell and grow in size until you give it the necessary antidote.	Make them wear some Magic Smelly Socks
Kikoughela	Your pet will have a sore throat and coughing fits.	Give them 2 spoonfuls of Kikoughela Syrup
Lumps	Your pet will be covered in large, yellow, itchy lumps.	Give them a Medicinal Mud Bath
NeoPhobia	A chronic fear of leaving the house.	Make them wear a pair of Step Out Shoes
Hoochie Coochies	Your poor pet will break out in blue and green spots.	Give them some Hoochie Coochie Tablets
NeoMonia	This is a nasty illness that needs urgent medical attention. Your pet will feel sick, tired, and grumpy until you give it the cure.	Bathe them using Medicinal Soap
Neezles	Your pet will break out in red spots if it's suffering from Neezles.	Give them a Neezles Jab
Itchy Scratchies	A nasty disease where your pet is covered in amazingly itchy red lumps.	Rub some Itchy Scratchy Cream on the lumps
NeoPox	If your pet has NeoPox it will be covered in very itchy, contagious red blotches.	Feed them a slice of NeoPox Pizza
NeoWarts	Your pet will have big cauliflower like lumps growing on its body.	Feed them some Neowart Fungus
Bubbles	Your poor pet will constantly hiccup bubbles.	Give them a mug of Bubbles Herbal Drink
Neo Flu	Your pet will refuse to eat, appear flushed and be very sleepy.	Feed them a handful of delicious Neoflu Jelly Pills.
Fuzzy Fungus	In the most severe cases your Neopets fur can turn purple as it begins to turn into a Fungus Ball.	Give them one serving of Honey Blossom Extract
Ugga-Ugga	Possibly the worst Tyrannian disease, your Neopet's throat becomes so sore that all they can do is make Ugga noises.	Give them a warm cup of Sporkle Syrup.
Reptillioritus	Caused by a bite from a venemous Reptillior, the skin becomes very red and itchy. Your Neopet will refuse to eat and feel very tired all the time.	Rub Cactopus Cream on the affected area.
Doldrums	Your pet will start hiding in cold, dark, damp corners and won't come out into the light.	Rub Mushroom Ointment on their face.
Jitters	If you notice that your pet runs around constantly and just can't seem to sit still to sleep, eat or do anything it might have this disease.	Feed your pet Potion of Containment.
Spyder Bite	Caused by a bite from a wild Spyder, your pet will appear very afraid of the Spider Grundo and Spyders.	Feed your pet Spyder Juice Elixir.

Sometimes your pet may be bloated but that doesn't mean it's sick or that it needs Flat-U-Less pills. It ate too much! Just give it a few days before you feed it again.

 If you are short on funds, you can always try visiting the Healing Springs in Faerieland for free aid. A kind Water Faerie will try to help your Neopet.

 Above all, be sure to treat your pet as soon as possible…unless you are fond of blue pets.

Name: Blackberry Sorbet
Available: From the Main Food Shop
Neopet’s Description: Great if you want dessert, but dont want to be too full.
TNE’s Description: A nice, light dessert perfect for fall evenings.

Ingredients:

1 c water

1/2 c sugar

2/3 c orange juice

2 c blackberries 

2 tbsp lime juice

Directions:

Bring the water to a boil, stir in sugar, add orange juice, and simmer for 5 minutes.  
Cool the syrup and chill in the refrigerator.  
Meanwhile, combine the berries and lime juice in a blender or food processor and puree.  Do not over process.  
Mix the puree and syrup together thoroughly and freeze in an ice cream maker (at least 2 quart) according to
the manufacturer's directions.

Note: Put the blackberry puree through a sieve to remove seeds before combining with syrup, for a smoother sorbet.
