National Neopolitan Museum Archive: NPv2

Stop! This page is still under construction!

NPv2 was a competition Neopets ran in November 2001. Our vault has put together the following information on the NPv2 plotline. Many records were destroyed, so the quality has suffered...but you should be able to follow along.

5th Storing, 11:12am : In an old deserted room in the bowels of the Virtupets Space Station, a disused computer monitor has suddenly just turned itself on... Click here to see vault footage.

5th Storing, 6:20pm : Today was the Better Than You finals!
Moving around Neopia constantly due to their parents' jobs, Billy and his sister Sarah really did not have much time to make friends, or to even attend school. They would sit at home and play each other at computer games most nights while other children played outside. Tonight was a night they had waited months for, they had qualified to appear on Neopias greatest game show! Scoring a colossal 1,260 in Meerca Chase guaranteed them victory! They had been playing constantly for three months now, and all that hard work had just paid off as they walked off with the grand prize... a week's holiday at the Virtupets Space Station!!! Click here to see vault footage.

7th Storing, 2:00pm, Grundo's Cafe
Billy and Sarah were enjoying every minute of their holiday at the Space Station. On the second day they met two new friends while eating lunch at Grundo's cafe, a Kyrii called Karai, and a Gelert called Helena.
Unbeknownst to them, something was watching, and listening to their conversation... Click here to see vault footage.

7th Storing, 2:25pm, Virtulift 4
After the meal the four friends headed back to their rooms, something happened. Yes, they were trapped... Neopet v2 had found its new friends, and it was never, EVER going to let them go. Billy slammed the emergency key, and although alarm bells were ringing in the station above, the virtulift would not move. Neopet v2 was in control... Click here to see vault footage.

7th Storing, 5:45pm, Neopian Central
The first thing the citizens of Neopia did after they heard the news was to compose a letter to the bane of their existence, and creator of the Virtupets Space Station, Dr. Sloth. Minutes ago a Grundo delivery boy ran into Kauvaras Potion Shop clutching a reply.

Kauvara begins to read the letter...

Citizens of Neopia, I received your pathetic plea for help only this afternoon, and I must admit it has really brightened up my day! I find it most amusing, and indeed very ironic that you come to me, Dr. Frank Sloth, begging for help. Neopet v2 was a program that I created a couple of years back, it was meant to be a replacement for you wretched Neopets, however after you defeated me in the Space Station the project was shelved. The program's artificial intelligence was a little too paranoid for my liking anyway... Now it seems that my creation has come back to life and has kidnapped four of your precious children, what a beautiful twist of fate. I could help you, I could deactivate the program, but considering the pain you have put me through, I simply do not think that would be fair. The deactivation code can be entered from a secret terminal somewhere within the station. There are ten numerical codes to be found, and these must be entered in a certain order. Each of the four programmers who worked on the original Neopet v2 program know two of the codes each, and the other two codes are built into the program itself. If you succeed in turning off the program then the children will live. You have till midnight on Sunday to find the codes, or those poor children will run out of air and perish. I hope this has helped, good luck in your quest, I will be watching you every step of the way... Yours Sincerely, Dr. Frank Sloth PS. Heh heh heh... ok here's a clue... you won't be able to get any information from the first programmer, his mouth will be full of that vile purple vegetable that he craves so much.

8th Storing, 2:14pm, Virtulift 4
The atmosphere in the virtulift took a turn for the worse. Back on Neopia everybody struggled to hunt down the four programmers and to find the deactivation code, but they were slow and had only worked out a small part of the puzzle. Click here to see vault footage.

9th Storing, 12:11pm, Virtulift 4
While much of Neopia desperately searches for a way to rescue the unfortunate Neopets trapped in Virtulift 4, things are getting even worse. Now running out of oxygen seems to be the least of their worries... Click here to see vault footage.

9th Storing, 8:45pm, Virtulift 4 (3 hours 15 mins to go)
And yes... with only a couple of hours to go, the extremely complex code was figured out by the heroic citizens of Neopia and the evil program Neopet version 2 was deactivated. Click here to see the solution. As the green and black screen faded, the virtulift jerked into motion and the air supply was restored.

Yes, the children were saved, and were greeted with a heroes welcome by the worried Neopets outside the virtulift!!! As compensation, they were treated with as much food as they could eat at Grundos, and complimentary tickets to visit the Space Station whenever they wished.
However, Billy and Sarah were only thinking one thing... when they returned to Neopia it was never going to be boring again - they were going to be the most popular Neopets around! Click here to see vault footage.
