Why isn't my Neopet born yet?
|
If you see this image when you look at your pet's information or try to play games with your pet, it means you didn't finish creating it. Go back to Create a Pet (on the yellow toolbar), and your pet will be waiting for you. |
If you accidentally created too many Neopets, you will not be able to disown your extra one until you finish creating it. Once your NeoPet is born, you can go to the Neopian Pound and abandon your unwanted pet.

Can I create more than one Neopet?
Yes, you can have up to four Neopets. Don't forget you don't need to create new ones, you could always adopt a more experienced Neopet at the Neopian Pound.

Can I see all the Neopets?
You can see all the pets in their basic unpainted forms on the 'All Pets' page. Click on 'WORLD' from the yellow sidebar. Then click on 'ALL PETS'.
Click here or the cybunny to go to the "All Pets" page or Return to Top.
In your imagination, yes NeoPets can breed. On the site your NeoPet will not have babies, or anything like that.
Can Neopets marry/date?
Your pet cannot marry or have any other relationship with other pets. This may be added in the future, but at the moment you can search for other owners with pets that you think your pet would like.
What is my active pet, and how can I change it?
Your active pet is the one you are currently playing with. This is the one whose name appears in the yellow side bar. To change your active pet, got to Quick Ref. (Click on your pet's name in the yellow side bar) Your inactive pets will be slightly faded. If you only have one Neopet, it will always be your active pet. If you have more than one and wish to change your active NeoPet, simply click on the pet you want to become the new active pet.
Can I change my Neopet's name?
No, I am afraid once a Neopet is named, that is what it will always be called. Even if you adopt your Neopet from the pound.
How do you know how strong, fast or healthy your NeoPet is?
You can view your Neopets stats at anytime by going to the Quick Ref page. You can get to this page by clicking on 'Pet Central' and then 'Quick Ref', or by clicking on your Neopet's name in the yellow side bar.
How can I change my pets species/color?
There are a number of ways you can change your Neopet's species or colour. Most commonly you can buy a Magical Paintbrush and then go to the Rainbow Pool. You can paint different pets in different colours, go to the Rainbow Pool for the full list before you buy a brush. Otherwise you may waste Neopoints on a brush you cannot use. If you are very lucky you may be given a Paintbrush as a random event, although this is very rare.
You can also try feeding your Neopet a Magical Potion. Different potions have different effects. For example if you fed a Red Meerca Morphing potion to your Green Gelert, it would change into a Red Meerca. If you fed it to your Blue Meerca, it would change to a Red Meerca.
You can also risk taking your Neopet to the Secret Lab. You need to collect all nine pieces of the Secret Lab map before you can go there. Once you have all nine pieces, you can fire the ray gun at your Neopet. It is completely at your own risk and absolutely anything may happen to your Neopet, including changing colour or species.
Other magical items may also alter your Neopet, such as Magical Meerca Plushies. Always be wary when giving your Neopet a new magical toy to play with :)
How do I paint my Neopet?
To use a paintbrush, you need to have your glowing paintbrush in Your Items. If it is in your safety deposit box you won't be able to use it. Then go to the Rainbow Pool (click on 'Shops', then on the blue pool with a rainbow going into it).
When you are carrying a brush, there will be several options at the bottom of the rainbow pool. Select which brush you wish to use, and which pet you wish to paint. Note - Not all pets can be painted in every colour. To see a full list of what pets can be painted in each colour, click on the link on the Rainbow Pool page. You can also get to it by clicking here.
Note: - You can only use a Paintbrush once, then it will vanish.

Why can only certain Neopets be painted certain colours?
The colours your Neopet can change into depend on its species. Some Neopets wouldn't be seen dead in a Faerie costume but can't get enough of their Halloween gear. Every Neopet will have several options that you can colour it and we will be adding to these all the time.
How do I know what colours I can paint my Neopet?
This varies depending on what species you own. For a complete listing of what colours each Neopet can be painted, go to the Rainbow Pool and click on the 'ALL COLOURS' link.
Click here to go to the "All Colours" page.
How do I turn my Neopet into a Faerie?
First you need to find a Faerie Paintbrush. You can get these from random events, games such as Dice-A-Roo and in the magic shop. Once you have your paintbrush simply take it to the Rainbow Pool and you can colour your Neopet.
Note - not all Neopets can be coloured with the Faerie Paintbrush. It is best to go to the Rainbow Pool and check that your Neopet can be changed before hunting down the Paintbrush.
Are there morphing potions for all types of pets?
At the moment Kauvara is rushed off her feet simply keeping up with the demand for all her potions. She will be adding more magical brews shortly, including many morphing potions.
If I give my Neopet a transmogrification potion, will it change its stats?
No, your Neopet will keep all its old stats, and you can still increase them as normal.
When you change a pet using a morphing potion does it change its likes and dislikes to that of the species or does just the picture change?
Its likes and dislikes will stay the same, but it will adopt any natural attributes that the new species has, such as a Scorchio's resistance to fire, or a Skeith's ability to eat anything.
Will there ever be a larger variety of colours available when you create a NeoPet?
No, whenever you create a Neopet you will have a choice of red, green, yellow, and blue. If you want to have a different coloured Neopet you can either find a magical paintbrush, or search through the Adoption Centre.
Can I change my Neopet's gender?
| Yes, you can change the gender of your NeoPet. You can try zapping your NeoPet with the lab ray, although the results are not guaranteed, it could just as easily change your pets species. Alternatively there is a magical potion that will change your NeoPet's gender. You can try to get your hands on this 'Strange Potion' in the shops. |
|
How do you turn your Neopet into a robot?
This is one of the side effects of the lab ray. The only way you can turn your Neopet into a robot is by zapping it with the lab ray. Remember, anything can happen, your Neopets won't necessarily turn into a robot. You need to collect all nine pieces of the secret lab map so that you have access to the secret laboratory. Then you must go to the secret lab and fire the ray gun at your Neopet. One of the side effects of the ray gun will turn your Neopet into a robot version, although it may also do something hideous to your Neopet so be careful!
How do I create a Krawk?
Thats a secret :) All I can tell you is that it is something to do with the Krawk petpet and the fungus cave.
Because we are so nice, we're going to tell you how
to do it.
The quickest way would probably be to use either a morphing or transomogrification
potion on an existing pet. If you are fortunate enough to get your hands
on a Krawk petpet, however, you can create one without using a morphing
potion on another pet. Here is what you will need to do:
Click here to go to the Fungus Caves or Return to Top.
How do I get a Draik?
Draik Nest
If you are lucky enough to get a Draik Egg from the food shop, do not feed it to your pet...hatch it here. You will need an original name for your draik, so be sure to have it ready before dropping by...and of course, you must have less than four pets.
Click here to go to the Draik Nest or Return to Top.
Why do I sometimes see my pet floating on her pet description?
It's just a random event. Sometimes when you look up a pet you will see smaller versions of that Neopet floating around your screen. It doesn't mean anything, it's just for fun.
How do I find out when my Neopet's special day is?
All Neopets have a special day of the year. On that day there will be lots of special items and events just for their particular species. To find out when your Neopets special day is go to 'World' and then click on 'Calendar'. This is in the toolbar at the top.
Does every neopet get its own day to honor it?
Yes, every Neopet has a special day, you can see when your favourite Neopet's day is by checking the Neopian Calendar. You can find this by going to 'Worlds' and then 'Calendar'.
On your pet's Special Day, be sure to keep an eye on
the News page for more information about new battledome moves, special features,
and pet-themed items.
When is my pets special day?
Every Neopet has its own special day! Check the Neopian Calendar to find out when your Neopet's special day is! To find the Calendar click on 'World' and then 'Calendar'.
to go to the Calendar or Return to Top.
Can I sell my Neopet?
No, selling Neopets for points or anything else is against our Terms and Conditions. It is a freezable offence.
You cannot actually transfer a Neopet to another person and the majority of people that claim to sell pets or accounts are trying to trick innocent players out of points, cash or items.
Remember if you disown a Neopet it is available for ANYBODY to adopt, so it should not be used to transfer Neopets.
This goes for online auctions sites as well. Here is what was posted in the Editorial for week 57 of the Neopian Times: Note from the editor Before I start I just want to remind everyone that selling accounts, Neopets or Neopoints on any Auction site is not allowed. If you have bought a plushie, notebook, stickers ect from a shop that is fine, but you can't auction virtual things as that is against our Terms and Conditions.
Can I give my Neopet to someone?
No you can't. There is not safe way to transfer a Neopet from one person to another. If you do not want a Neopet, disown it. It will then be available for other people to adopt. You can suggest other people adopt your ex-pet, but you cannot guarantee who will be the first to adopt it.
Remember selling Neopets is against our Terms and Conditions and is a freezable offence.
Transferring pets between accounts is very tricky.
If you do attempt it, make sure the person is ready to
adopt it as soon as you abandon it. If someone else adopts it first, you
are simply out of luck. Adoptions are "first come, first served",
so the other person is under no obligation to put it up for adoption just
because the pet didn't end up where you wanted it to end up.
Someone sent me a Neopet, where is it?
In order to create a pet, you must sign-up with Neopets at www.neopets.com.
Your friend just sent you a recommendation of what Neopet they thought you
would like. Just click on the "Sign-Up" button on the homepage
and follow the instructions!
This is a good way to get referral credit (honestly). It's a neat way to let your friends know you are thinking of them, and is another way you can have fun together. If you haven't seen it, why not drop by the Send a Pet page?
What does restricted mean?
If a Neopet is restricted this means that you cannot create it in the normal way. You will need to find out the secret way to create that particular Neopet.
You may also want to know:
How do you turn your Neopet into a robot?
How do I create a Krawk?
How do I get a Draik?
What does limited edition mean?
If a Neopet says limited edition under it this means that there are only a certain number of them in Neopia. From time to time more limited edition Neopets are released, you just need to keep checking back.
How do you get to the Adoption Centre?
Click on 'Pet Central' and then the large image to the lower left. It says 'Visit the Neopian Pound and adopt me' and has a sad purple Bruce on it. Note, you cant adopt that particular Bruce, but there are many more pets waiting for adoption.
I want to have another Neopet, do I have to create a new one?
No, you could always visit the Neopian Pound. Here you will find hundreds of loyal Neopets waiting for a good home. The pets in the pound tend to be a little older, wiser and stronger than if you create a completly new one. Plus they may have petpets or abilities that come free with them :)
I don't want my Neopet, how can I get rid of it?
|
If you have a pet that you no longer want to look after, you can
disown it. Your NeoPet will be kept in the Neopian
Pound until some kind soul comes and adopts them. Make sure
you are 100% certain you do not want your NeoPet as other people will
be able to adopt it as soon as you abandon it.
Bear in mind that any items or petpets that are equiped to your Neopet will go with it unless you remove them before disowning. |

Can I start an Adoption Agency?
Yes you are quite welcome to take Neopets out of the pound, nurse them to health and them return them to the pound. This will increase that Neopets chance of finding a good home. You can even advertise that pet's name in your guild or on the message boards. However, you CANNOT charge people to adopt a pet you have nursed, nor can you ensure a particular Neopet will go to a certain person. As soon as a Neopet is placed in the pound it is available for ANYBODY to adopt.
It's common practice (especially in guilds with "Fostering" or "Adoption" agencenies) for users to adopt a pet from the pound and use the Lab Ray on it until it becomes more desireable. These pets are then returned so the pet may be adopted by another user who will (hopefully) give it a good home.
