What are Neopoints?

Neopoints are the currency for Neopia. You can use Neopoints to buy your pet food, toys, and play games. Whenever you create a pet, send a pet to a friend, play games, etc., you earn Neopoints. For a full list of the ways to earn Neopoints click here.

How do I get more Neopoints?

If you are short on Neopoints, try playing some Games. Most of our games cost no Neopoints to play, and you can earn a large stash of Neopoints and even a trophy for your cabinet if you get a high score. Meerca Chase, Kiko Match and Destruct-o-match are quite easy to start with. There is also the Neopian Lottery if you are feeling lucky. Winners are announced each day and the jackpot is split equally amongst them.

You can try entering some of our Contests, or even set up your own Shop selling items to other Neopians.

If you are very low on Neopoints, it may be worth paying the Money Tree to see what kind Neopians have donated to the needy. If you are running low on Neopoints (have less than 1000NP), you can always visit the Soup Kitchen where the friendly Soup Faerie will be happy to give your pets free food.

For more ways to earn Neopoints, try reading our Neopoints info page.

If you are having trouble with them, you may want to drop by our Game Reviews page and see what guides are available for the games you like.

Can I send Neopoints to other people?

No, You cannot send Neopoints to other players. If you really want to help someone, you can make them your Neofriend and then you can send them one of your items. You can donate items and Neopoints at the Money Tree, although there is no guarantee who will pick it up.

Alternatively you can trade some items and neopoints with a person using the Island Trading Post.

A quick reminder: Never send/buy items or "trade" for information. It's never worth the price you pay.

I am not getting Neopoints from the games!

For a lot of our games you can only submit your score three times a day. When you submit your score, choose wisely as you only have three chances a day to get Neopoints and go on the high score table.

If you haven't played the game 3 times in the past 24 hours, please send your username and details of exactly what error you got using this form. A member of our helpful support team will contact you asap.

What do the jobs at the bank mean?

The jobs such as Wocky Guardian etc. are there just for fun. They don't mean anything in particular. Just pick which ever one you want to be.

It doesn't matter how you fill out that form. The only thing that affects what type of account you have is how many neopoints you have in there.

What does the bank do?

The National Neopian Bank is a place where you can safely store your money and create a safety deposit box. The bank will also give you interest for the time you keep your money in your account.

Interest must be collected daily. It is no longer automatically added to your bank account. Make certain that this is one of the first things you do each day because if you deposit or withdraw any neopoints before collecting your interest, you will lose the interest for that day. The Neopian day (and interest) is reset at midnight, NST.

How do I get a Safety Deposit Box?

You can get your Safety Deposit Box by clicking on 'Shops' and then on the safe image in the toolbar. The safety deposit box is free and it can store any number of items. Any items kept in your safety deposit box are safe from the pant devil, sludging etc. It also means you can carry more items.

Once you have set up your bank account, simply click the open safe image on the toolbar. It's on the far right. Remember to keep all items that you are not currently using in your safety deposit box to keep them safe from theft.

How do I put something in or take something out of my safety deposit box?

To put something in your safety deposit box, simply go to 'Shops', then click on 'Your Items'. Click on the item you want to put in your safety deposit box. A small window will open up, select "Put in Safety Deposit Box" and press 'OK'.

To take an item out, you simply click on the item you want to remove from your safety deposit box and it will be returned to your inventory.

There is also a handy search feature. If you know the exact name for the item, it will search your safety deposit box for it. This is especially handy if you have a lot of things in storage. Unfortunately, it only works with the exact name with proper capitalization. So even if you have every codestone, simply typing in "codestone" will not return a list of all of them. If you tried it, this is what it would say:

You can't find 'codestone' in your Safety Deposit Box
Please make sure that your have entered the exact name of the item you are searching for. This search is CaSe SeNsItIvE. If you need help to find the exact name, why not use the search function on the yellow bar?

You would have to specify "Eo Codestone" with a capital E and C.

Some items, like map sets, have identical names, and these may be pulled up in a list. Let's say I was looking for Spooky Treasure Map pieces. If I typed that into the search bar, this is what I may see:

Name Piccy Amount Type Description
Spooky Treasure Map 1 Special This is a piece of the spooky treasure map... find them all and a frightful feast awaits you!
Spooky Treasure Map 1 Special This is a piece of the spooky treasure map... find them all and a frightful feast awaits you!

Spooky Treasure Map 1 Special This is a piece of the spooky treasure map... find them all and a frightful feast awaits you!
Spooky Treasure Map 1 Special This is a piece of the spooky treasure map... find them all and a frightful feast awaits you!
Spooky Treasure Map 1 Special This is a piece of the spooky treasure map... find them all and a frightful feast awaits you!
Spooky Treasure Map 1 Special This is a piece of the spooky treasure map... find them all and a frightful feast awaits you!

Because these pieces all have the EXACT same name, it pulls a list of all of them.
